Overview: hotel description: Hotel Derby description

Hotel Derby is the place to be for groups that want to be right in the heart of the nightlife. It's a charming little hotel in a central location with lively après-ski happening all around it. You can even start in the ground floor of the hotel as it has its own very popular Derby Bar. Very convenient for the first tipple of the evening!

The hotel bar also boasts an open log fire, which everyone loves and a cosy breakfast room for starting off the day. This place is a great value hotel with everything you really need on your holiday, and it's right in the centre of the resort.

Room Types: Hotel Derby bedrooms

There are only 10 rooms at the Hotel Derby and each of them has been done to a very comfy standard - lots of exposed wood and cosy textiles. You can choose from the single, twin or triple room options and they all have a shower. Simple! However, we don't recommend this hotel for families with young children.

It's bed and breakfast here, so head down in the morning for a continental buffet to fuel up for your day on the slopes.

We update Hotel Derby's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. The famous après-ski culture alongside fantastic skiing conditions sees all levels of skiers and boarders returning here year after year. Tree-lined plateaus, wide lengths of varied terrain and beautiful scenery make up the skiing here. Beginners will find the nursery slopes at the foot of the Clotes chair, and the lift takes you to the main ski area at Sportina where lessons also take place. You don't have to conquer the lift process before even having the snow under your skis - regular shuttle buses provide an easy ride for beginners to get out on to the piste. After acing the ski lift, take the chair up to blue 42, connecting to number 30 for a...
Infamously known as the best resort for après ski in the Italian Alps, there's something for everyone here, from chilled-out cocktail bars to cosy balcony cafés and lively party places. Having disposed of its previous branding as the Ibiza on the slopes, the resort has a much more refined feel, whilst maintaining the dynamic après atmosphere. The modern resort centre is where the liveliest après occur: ski down the home run to Sportina and head straight from the slopes to Capanna Mollino, a slope-side b...

stayed in this hotel twice now in consecutive years just by coincidence ended up getting the same room as I had the last time the manager of the hotel is really friendly and added bonus recognised me from the year before the hotel isn't the best hotel I have stayed in but is certainly not the worst it is perfectly adequate for a weeks stay for skiing or sport holidays I would stay here again as you its cheap and good enough for a weeks stay and the staff are really friendly

"Great position, breakfasts and staff - ask for extra blankets"

The hotel was good, the staff were really friendly and the breakfasts were ample (usual continental cereal, toast, jam, cheese etc). The bar was quite nice too and everything was clean and tidy. I think all the rooms were twin en-suites; they just slotted the beds together if you wanted a double. One thing is that it was quite cold, but there were extra blankets if you needed them. The position isn’t ideal for the lifts as you have to walk up a cobbled hill, but having said that, there was a shuttle bus if you didn’t want to walk. There’s a supermarket and ski shop just around the corner (basically on the same square) and you’re within easy walking distance of all the restaurants and bars (there are some lovely places to eat and lots had happy hour). I’d have no problems staying here again and would definitely recommend it to young couples and groups of friends. The rooms are upstairs and downstairs is a club, which is loud and does go on, so it’s not the place for families or light sleepers.
