Location: where is Chalet Trois S

Courchevel Village (formerly Courchevel 1550) The Trois S is the ideal choice for the ski-in/out enthusiast being located on the edge of the Proveres piste. In the morning it is a short ski down to the Grangettes Telecabine that accesses the whole domain. Whilst Courchevel Village is reasonably quiet in the evening there are still some good bars and restaurants within easy walking distance of the chalet or you could always catch the bus from the stop opposite the chalet up to Courchevel Moriond or Courchevel.

Divided into five villages - each known by its altitude - the Courchevel area provides a series of settings to suit different tastes, group make-ups and budgets. For pure, champagne-popping indulgence, Courchevel 1850 oozes exclusivity and no-limits luxury. It's the largest and highest of the villages and boasts a private airport, twelve Michelin stars between its restaurants, two palace hotels, and many designer boutiques. It's a seriously swanky stomping ground for the fashionable, famous and affluent. ...
Ideal for those at the genesis of their skiing career, 60% of slopes here are beginner-friendly. There's a 'Stop Zone' where learners can safely conquer the basics before hitting the slopes, and 4 beginner areas (called Zen Zones) where you can gently progress – find two in the main area and one each in Moriond and Le Praz. As part of the effort to make the resort child friendly, the Indiens piste focuses on fun for kids. Activities here include face painting, a treasure trail and many other activities around a...
Après ski in 1850 is the height of sophistication. Enjoy a cosy fireside cocktail in La Mangeoire piano bar or La Suite Bar & Louge; sample fine wine and champagne in Le P'tit Drink or go clubbing in Les Caves de Courchevel. Down in 1650, you can fully appreciate the stunning surroundings at The Signal bar. Les Schuss is good for a quiet drink in a traditional Savoyarde setting and if you're looking for live music and a vibrant atmosphere, try Rocky's and Bubble Bar. Popular bars include Pub Le Ski Lodge, Waiki...

"Chalet Trois S Courchevel"

Thanks to Sno for arranging another good ski holiday. Overall good with a great chalet and hosts Lee and Becks, who made some lovely food and couldn't do enough for you; a rather disjointed transfer which ended up 3.5 hours on the way due to a rather ancient coach and travelling via a coach depot in the middle of no-where for refuelling; the return journey was much better around 2.5 hours. Lack of snow in 1550 (but in mid December that was always possible), but incredibly close to the main 1550 gondola into 1850 where there was sufficient snow and links to Meribel, Mottaret and on to Les Menuires and VT, although not as many lifts open as I expected and none in 1650. Planning notice on the chalet says it is going to be demolished at the end of the season and 3 new chalets will take its place. A bit of a shame as it has a great feel to it but some fittings are dated and weird layout with lower floors having no internal stairs to the main living space. Chalet always felt welcoming though, not like the 'appartment' chalet we stayed in last year in La Rosiere.

Big parties looking for simplicity, convenience and ski-in ski-out, look no further! Sleeping 14 in 6 bedrooms, it’s simply designed and the open plan living really works, along with the enthusiasm engendered by doorstep skiing and easy access to world famous après in any of the different villages. Glide out of your door and straight onto the Proveres piste to start the day, and finish it the same way coming back! In the evening, jump on the bus outside the chalet for a bigger night in Moriond/1650 or 1850. Alternatively take a short walk to Courchevel Village for a flavour of more relaxed/authentic alpine living. The choice is broad and up to you.
