Meals: Chalet Les Avals food & drink

We know that one of the most important ingredients of any winter holiday is the food. At the end of a crisp day on the mountain, there is nothing better than sitting down with a glass of wine to enjoy a delicious three course evening meal and re-live the day's adventures.

To get you started every morning we provide a hearty buffet of cereals, fresh French bread and jams, boiled eggs, porridge, fresh fruit, yogurt, juices, tea, and coffee. On six mornings there is also a cooked option, such as bacon or sausage with scrambled eggs.

On your return from the slopes every day a delicious afternoon tea is provided of freshly baked cakes, bread and jams, and tea or coffee. On six evenings you will enjoy a wonderful three course evening meal accompanied by complimentary regional table wine. On the festive last evening of the week the meal is followed by a delicious cheeseboard of local specialities and complimentary port.

The majority of our chefs have gained their skills in restaurants and hotels around the world, and are keen to share with you the results of those experiences. Even though many return year after year, all are involved in our in-depth annual training programme to ensure they are able to meet the standards our clients have come to expect.

We update Chalet Les Avals's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

"Fabulous weather and resort, perfectly located chalet"

We had a lovely week with our children and grandchildren. The perfect place for getting around – there’s a nice restaurant nearby where we could come back for a lunch of for burgers and chips. Local bus service was very good. The rooms were a little tired and the whole place could have done with a spruce up. It didn’t bother us particularly but there’s always room for improvement! The food was very nice, with lots of choice. The children who can be fussy eaters ate most of their dinners and particularly liked the cakes and chocolate in the afternoon. The chalet girls really couldn’t do enough for us. There was plenty of room to store skis etc and the hotel also has a TV and games though we very rarely used them.
