10 minutes' walk (or 5 minutes' chauffeured minibus ride) from central Val d'Isère, and an 8-10 minute walk to the Bellevarde Express lift.

Overview: chalet description: Chalet Genepy description

The smallest of our luxury chalets in Val d'Isère, Genepy is charming, cosy, and the perfect choice for family groups or groups of friends seeking proximity to the resort centre and excellent spa facilities. It sleeps up to 10 adults in 5 double or twin rooms, and has a further children's bunk room. The snow front, shops and restaurants are just a short chauffeured minibus ride away from this quiet, exclusive corner of Val d'Isère.

Spread across 3 delightfully furnished floors, the chalet combines traditional alpine style - with its stunning wooden beams and panelling, and beautiful stone fireplace - with wonderful modern touches. Whether you spend your afternoons admiring the lofty peaks from the large sun-drenched balcony, or curled up on the sofa in front of the roaring fire with a glass of champagne, you'll be drawn to the chalet's generous open plan living space.

Once the skis are off, head straight for the wellness area, with its striking indoor swimming pool built into the rock face. Close by are the steam room and a chill-out area with bean bags and sound system, perfect for teenagers to escape to. Afterwards you can take the lift to the floor above, where the television room beckons with its large, comfortable sofa and state-of-the-art TV.

Now available as a catered chalet for the first time, Genepy comes with a team of dedicated staff, including your exceptional Ski chef, who will serve spectacular 4-course meals in the comfort of the chalet's inviting dining area.

Meals: Chalet Genepy food & drink

We truly aim to deliver the best food in the Alps and succeed in this - we were the overall winners of The Times Chalet Chef 2010 award and so our food has been independently rated as the best in the Alps, but our standards have improved hugely even since then and our reputation in the ski chalet industry is unparalleled. As a result, we are able to attract extraordinary chefs, passionate about food and about delighting you!

Beautiful food deserves only the finest wine, which is why our wine list is composed by the acclaimed Master of Wine and owner of Savage Selection wines, Mark Savage. Mark brings interesting, small production wines to the table, all deeply characteristic of their origin and beautifully paired with our food.

We update Chalet Genepy's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

This accommodation only holiday to Chalet Genepy in Val d'Isere, France departs Sunday 2nd February 2025, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 2024 was between €1 and €3 per person, per night.

In France's Rhone Alp region, Val d'Isere (pronounced: val de saire/sare/ser or val d sere) is widely thought of as one of the most brilliant and beautiful ski areas in the world. In keeping with the giddyingly gorgeous surroundings, the resort itself is one of France's prettiest - a huddle alpine hamlets formed from cosy wood and stone chalets. With the original village dating back to the 13th century and a Christmas-card-worthy church steeple at its centre, there’s alpine charm by the bucket load. While dre...
Skiers in Val d'Isere are schussing in the tracks of some of the world's greatest skiers. Olympic medallists Marielle and Christine Goitschel learned to ski here, not to mention triple gold winner Jean-Claude Killy, after whom the wider ski area is named. As an indication of this place's premier status - the resort has hosted championships including the 1992 Olympics, the World Alpine Ski Championships in 2009 and World Cup events every December. If some of the best skiers in history have learned here, begi...
Famed for its après ski, there's no chance of a dull evening in Val. Living up to its name, you'll experience ‘sweet madness' at the original Le Folie Douce, which brings you some of the best après ski in Europe - including dancers, musicians, raining champagne and much more... Once that closes, Dicks T Bar's a local legend, staying open into the early hours each night. Bananas is another firm favourite, much loved for its crafty cocktails and slope-side location. In Val d'Isere's 90-something restaurants, ...
