Chalets like The Ananda are hard to find these days...
The chalet itself is beautifully and traditionally decorated with local antiques and artifacts that the French owner has collected from her travels around the world. It offers large, really comfortable accommodation for 11 people with all bedrooms being a good size, some with wonderful built in alcove twin beds. There is a lovely open plan living/dining room with log fire on the first floor with a second seating area with TV on the top floor and a private hammam for those looking to relax those aching muscles after a hard day on the slopes.
Chalet Ananda is a wonderful freestanding traditional property is situated in the hugely popular hamlet of Laisinant with its high-speed Laisinant chairlift being just a two minute walk away allowing you instant ski access whilst avoiding the start of day rush at the Solaise/Bellevarde lifts. Its tranquil location is ideal for those looking to escape the busy hustle-bustle of Val d'Isere's centre which is only a 10 minute straight forward walk from the top of the high street where you will find the many shops, bars, restaurants and clubs this world-renowned resort has to offer.
This super chalet really does offer a unique option for those groups or families looking for real escape in completely traditional Alpine surroundings and is run by two of our friendly chalet hosts (possibly a couple) who live out.
Did You Know: Ananda was one of the principal disciples and devout attendant of the Buddha. He is famed for his incredible retentive memory to which most of the suttas in the Sutta Pitaka are attributed...
We offer our properties on a flexible catering basis therefore providing our guests with as much choice as possible when choosing a fully-catered, part-catered or self-catered chalet or apartment. Your preferences will be discussed at the time of booking and a tailor-made itinerary will be costed based on your requirements.
Our chalet hosts all enjoy cooking and take pride in what they serve and whilst they are not necessarily qualified chefs, they have good experience of dinner party cooking and many of them will have attended one of the well-regarded cookery schools with whom we work closely to ensure the highest calibre of staff possible.
If choosing the fully catered or part catered option, you will be assured of good home-cooked food prepared and served by our specially selected chalet hosts. We do not offer luxury items or haute cuisine, we serve good wholesome hearty food fit for anyone after a hard day on the slopes. Menus will be varied and may include local dishes as well as the more traditional UK favourites such as roasts, lasagne or casseroles.
Our menus have been formed over many years taking into account previous guests’ likes and recommendations and whilst we believe this plan to offer excellent variety, there will be the odd occasion when a dish might not be well-received. We would ask you therefore that if you have any specific dietary requirements or a yearning for dishes in particular, you enquire before booking your holiday and provide us with as much notice as possible regarding specific diets such as vegetarian, vegan, celiac or non-dairy etc.
