We are an award-winning ski school that have been established in the Alps for 25 years. We have a personalised approach to learning - planning our small group lessons around progression and fun, with qualified, English speaking instructors at the helm.
Ski and snowboard lessons run for all levels, from beginner courses to off piste clinics. Each group has 4-8 people, with the meeting point in our Evolution 2 office in the resort centre.

Onyx Snowboard School
Onyx were founded in 2010 and are dedicated to sharing their love of snowboarding and making lessons easy and fun. They know the latest techniques and have all the necessary qualifications – plus an excellent knowledge of the Portes du Soleil. Group snowboard lessons teach all levels from beginners to experts. Class sizes are small (3-6 people) and the atmosphere is fun and sociable. Book 5 days of 2 hour group lessons for an awesome week on the hill!
Avoriaz Alpine Ski & Snowboard School
Avoriaz Alpine Ski & Snowboard School is Avoriaz’s only registered British run ski school. The expert instructors here offer a comprehensive selection of ski and snowboard courses, from beginners to improvers and experts. With group sizes only going up to 6 and private lessons also available, you’ll receive quality tuition meaning you can build confidence and make fast progress on the snow. Backcountry lessons are also available including saftey training. The main meeting point is by the beginners area inbetween the Yeti bar and the restaurant chalet d'Avoriaz (you can’t miss their signs!), but double check where to go when you book.

Whether you’re a beginner, a nervous skier or a high speed bumps skier, we aim to provide you with enjoyable, top quality ski and snowboard lessons in English.
Our lessons are taught by experienced instructors who will teach using easy to understand explanations, simple demos and “straight to the point” feedback.
We always ask you to honest with your level of skiing when booking with us, if you are in a group with people of similar ability this will help maximize your learning time on the snow.

Evolution 2 Ecole de Glisse
There’s so much opportunity when it comes to private lessons with the instructors at Evolution 2 – fast track your learning to ski, work on a particular technique or specialise in telemark, speed riding or cross country. If you just want to explore the Portes du Soleil, our instructors will guide you around the area, helping out with skills along the way. Book lessons 1:1 or with a handful of other friends or family. Evolution 2 lessons are available mornings and afternoons, lasting 1.5/2 hours.

Ski With Ease Ski School
At Ski With Ease, our friendly instructors are on hand to help enhance your time in Avoriaz with Easy-Learning ski classes. Open to all ages, levels and abilities, our private lessons and tried and tested techniques help you to “get the most without using the most” from skiing. Book a lesson with an instructor 1:1, or together with friends and family in a small group. Our classes can last 2 hours, half days or full days. Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence Winner - 2016.
Onyx Snowboard School
Founded in 2010, Onyx’s instructors are fully ISTD qualified and know the Portes du Soleil like the back of their hands. They offer private snowboard lessons for all ages and levels, whether you’ve never tried it before or want to have a go at freestyle, flatland, park or pipe. Private lessons can be on a 1:1 basis or with up to 4 other snow buddies. They’re planned around your needs to achieve great results in building confidence and technique.

Onyx Snowboard School
The team at Onyx Snowboard School know Portes du Soleil’s backcountry inside out. Book one of their private backcountry sessions, which are available for up to six people and totally tailored to your riding level. If you’ve not been snowboarding off piste before, they’ll share all the technique and safety know how. The same goes for split boarding, if you want to try something new on the snow. And if you need the equipment, they’ll loan it to you. Backcountry sessions with Onyx are also a terrific way for confident off piste riders to explore the surroundings – book a half or full day adventure 1:1 or with some buddies.
Evolution 2 Ecole de Glisse
If you can confidently ski in parallel on all pistes, let Evolution 2 take you to the next level and introduce you to powder skiing. Evo 2’s small groups of 3-8 are led by qualified, experienced instructors and all the necessary safety equipment is provided. Half and full day sessions are available. We can also arrange heliski tours for the mountain experience of a lifetime.
