We’re sure you’ll love the food at the Porto Mare with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. Whether you’re in the mood for Italian or fancy some traditional Portuguese cuisine, the Hotel Porto Mare has a great selection. We love to head to the Oceano Bar in the evening and enjoy the live music whilst sipping on an aperitif. For guests staying on half board you can enjoy a delicious buffet dinner at the Atlântida restaurant.

There are a mix of indoor and outdoor pools but with five to choose from, you’re sure to find one to suit you. The hotel is part of the Vila Porto Mare resort and benefits from all the resort's facilities. There’s a range of activities on offer at the hotel that are great for sports enthusiasts including tennis, fitness room and table tennis to name a few (some sports activities payable locally). The spa is always a hit with a great range of treatments and massages on offer(bookable and payable locally).

Family-friendly resort

The resort is great for those travelling with kids with a range of facilities and activities on offer. The children’s activity program is great for keeping the little ones entertained (ages 4 – 12 years) and the mini-golf is a great activity for all the family. The children’s pool is always a hit and so is the on-site ice-cream parlour.

Junior Suites are approx. 56 m² and sleep up to three people in twin beds (extra bed is a sofabed). Alternatively, this room can sleep two adults and two children. A delicious buffet breakfast is served daily offering a range of hot and cold items from 7.30am to 10.30am. If you book half board, evening meals can be taken at the Atlântida restaurant from 6.30pm to 9.30pm. The Atlântida restaurant serves a buffet with international cuisine and overlooks the pool and gardens. Every evening there is a different theme with show cooking.

Part of the Vila Porto Mare resort, guests at the Hotel Porto Mare have access to all of the resort's facilities. If you don't want to venture too far in the evenings you can enjoy one of the hotels à la carte restaurants. Alfama offers a taste of Portuguese and Madeiran cuisine, Il Basilico Madeira is an Italian-inspired restaurant that's popular with the locals too, and Horta has an innovative menu that introduces the concept of healthy comfort food (these restaurants can be booked and paid locally).

The poolside Varanda bar offers lighter, more informal meals throughout the day, and Portofino Bar has a Happy Hour from 5-6 pm every evening.

In the evening we recommend heading to Oceano bar to enjoy the live music, or to watch your favourite football team.
