Overview

- Hotel La Palma description
Hotel La Palma has the best rooftop bar on Lake Maggiore with amazing views over the lake and Borromean Islands. It’s a popular haunt with locals as well as tourists so head there early and grab a seat in time for sunset. We love the cocktails here and you can order bar snacks too. It's the must-be place at aperitivo time. There’s an infinity plunge pool on the terrace where you can relax during the day with the same incredible views. It’s part of the hotel’s Panoramic Spa, which also has a sauna, steam room and relaxation area with floor-to-ceiling windows.
There’s a lakeside swimming pool that’s just over the road, across the promenade - we love the hydro massage stations and extra-large sofas for lounging on. A bar that serves refreshments and light snacks so you never have to leave. If you can tear yourself away, take the short walk into Stresa’s centre along the promenade. There’s piazzas, shops and cafés to explore. The ferry stop for boats to the Borromean Islands is close by too, which is a great day out. The gardens and villas are stunning.
Dinners at Hotel La Palma are lovely. There’s a real focus on local, fresh food so you can enjoy fish from the lake and Piedmont specialities. Head back to Sky Bar for a nightcap once you’ve finished or just sink straight into bed. Therooms have all been completely renovated in modern luxury style.
