Grand Hotel Menaggio has the best location in town. It’s right on the lakefront and you can’t help but notice the hotel from the water – it’s old-world charm really stands out. The centre of Menaggio is only 300 metres away so you can easily explore the shops and bars or jump on a ferry and head out for the day. It’s a great base as ferries from here go all over the lake. To make the most of the location, we recommend upgrading to a Superior Room. You’ll get uninterrupted lake views and your own private space to watch the sunrise over the lake each morning.

The outside areas here are lovely. The gardens are well-established and beautifully maintained. The pool’s a nice spot to kick back and relax for the day. You get views of the lake from here and you can see all the way to Bellagio. La Veranda is a nice place for lunch, it’s close to the pool so you won’t have to venture far. They’ve got a good selection of light dishes and antipasti. The cocktail menu is great too. Try and save some room for dinner though as there’s a fine dining a la carte restaurant too if you fancy a special meal at the hotel (payable locally).

Rooms

Standard Rooms can sleep up to three people and the third bed is a single sofa bed. They are decortaed in a traditional style. Facilities include air conditioning, TV, safe, minibar, hairdryer and shower. Rooms with a lake view are available for a supplement. Baby cots are available on request, free of charge.

Superior Rooms can sleep up to three people and offer more space and lovely lake views. These rooms have a bath or shower. Rooms with a balcony are available for a supplement.

Please not that the pavement from the hotel to main piazza gets very narrow in places and is not wide enough for wheelchairs. There is no ramp at the hotel but guests can use the door by restaurant.

Once in the hotel there are two lifts reaching all floors.

A rich breakfast buffet is served each morning in the indoor dining room and on the outdoor terrace in warmer months. With locally made breads and pastries, jams, cold meats and cheeses along with several hot options, you'll find all you need to kick start a day of exploring the local area.

For summer 2021 the half board dinner is served in the dining room and made up of four courses with a choice. There are early meal times for children available. From summer 2022 onwards the hotel is bed and breakfast.

Restaurant La Veranda offers a more casual setting with some of the best apperitivo on the lake and glorious antipasti boards to go alongside them. It's the perfect location to sit and watch the world go by.

Clio Restaurant is the fine dining a la carte option overlooking the lake and gardens. Perfect for those nights where something a little extra special is required, with the likes of grilled octopus and swordfish on the menu, Sala Clio offers fantastic service along with a modern take on traditional Italian dishes.

Please note that dining at both Sala Clio and La Veranda is a la carte and payable locally. Restaurants are open in high season only.
