Breckenridge Half Term holidays
If you’re planning a getaway with the family during February half-term, Breckenridge is a perfect choice. The altitude of between 3,000 and 4,000m means the chance of great snow is super high and with an average of 300 sunny days throughout the year, coming home with a much sought after goggle tan is more than likely – make sure you stock up on the factor 30!
If you’re bringing the children, the Breckenridge Ski School is the perfect place for them to learn, no matter their ability. With over 600 instructors, the quality of tuition is up there with the best, and the options available for the variety of lessons will ensure everyone’s needs will be met. The inclusion of slow zones makes skiing with the kids a safe and fun experience; if you head to Peak 8 you can take the Springmeier then 4 O’clock the whole way down the mountain, a beautiful long green run in the slow zone. For those with a little more experience itching to try out Breck’s pedigree of freestyle options, check out Bonanza Park for some entry level jumps and rails.
There are a number of other activities for both kids and adults alike. If you fancy a break from skiing but still need a kick of adrenaline, look to head to Breckenridge Zip Line Tours - a great way to take in the scenery the same time as facing a white knuckle ride on their zip lines, ranging from 120 to 260m. You could also head to Keystone for tubing and tobogganing - always a family favourite.
