Villars Half Term holidays
You’re likely to find some of Villars’ best snow on a trip here in February, with most of the runs to the village typically skiable right up to some of the hotels. Lapins blue is one of these runs, where beginners can gain lots of confidence in leaving the Bretaye nursery slopes and skiing home at the end of the day. The glacier at Les Diablerets usually enjoys amazing conditions throughout the season and the sunniest slopes of Issenau are a dream in cold weather. Roc D’Orsay’s ski area, at around 2000m, also has stunning views of the Dents Midi and Mt. Blanc on brighter days.
Thanks to special offers for families (the ticket office have done a free lift pass for under 9’s in recent years), parents have the benefit of extra money to spend on quality family time. In the village, there’s loads to entertain the kids with – we love the sledge run at Col de Soud and the ice rink, meanwhile the swimming pool’s always a hit with families and non-skiers. Teens might like a go on the glacier’s Monsterpark or an introduction to snowboarding with the ESS. There are some lovely wellness facilities around the resort where grownups can unwind during their break (try the Royalp for ultimate luxury!).
