Veysonnaz New Year holidays
Veysonnaz traditionally has all kinds of entertainment over the New Year period. The order of the day on the 31st usually includes a ski down the mountain with torches in the early evening (or a walk through the town for youngsters), followed by mulled wine and raclette. This is often followed up with light show and a DJ at the main lift station and a stunning firework show at midnight in front of the Greppon Blanc restaurant.
The night rarely ends there though, with plenty of options to carry on celebrating the New Year. La Vache Folle, on the open air terrace of the restaurant Magrappé, is always a packed out favourite with past years featuring DJs, confetti and light shows until 3am. Vague à l’âme, Disco Pacha Club and Boite à lait often have New Year’s Eve parties with DJs and music until the early hours.
Many of the restaurants should have special “St Sylvester” New Year’s Eve menus including L'Arène, La Terrasse and Le Greppon Blanc, however make sure to book in advance as they tend to be very popular!
With high altitude slopes, lots of artificial snowmaking and the nearby Mont-Fort glacier, Veysonnaz usually sees in the New Year with great skiing conditions which cater for beginners, experts and everyone in between!
