Veysonnaz Christmas holidays
The intimate, friendly village atmosphere in Veysonnaz is perfect for a traditional Swiss Christmas. The high altitude of the resort and slopes means that great Christmas skiing conditions are almost guaranteed, and if the snow gods haven’t been their usual generous selves, snow cannon coverage and the nearby Mont-Fort glacier should provide plenty of early season snow.
Christmas trees covered in snow, decorated village streets and carol concerts really add to the festive spirit most Christmases in Veysonnaz. The resort has been known to have a torchlit descent on Christmas Day evening (if you’re lucky Father Christmas might even make an appearance on skis!), followed by fireworks, music, vin chaud and raclette. Veysonnaz is a perfect Christmas destination for non-skiers too with other festive activities including skating, tobogganing and dog-sled rides. One of the classiest restaurants, L'Arène (in the Hotel Chalet Royal) often has a traditional Swiss Christmas menu if you fancy treating yourselves on the big day.
