Saas Fee Half Term holidays
February is a brilliant time to visit the charming resort of Saas Fee – it’s when the piste conditions are at their peak, and the pretty village is most likely to be blanketed in heaps of fresh powder snow. Switzerland is a great half term destination too because the Brit-orientated resorts in France and Austria can get a bit crowded, while Saas Fee on the other hand is celebrated for its quiet pistes.
Families are very well catered for here with excellent nursery slopes and 3 ski schools to choose from. Steer energetic youngsters towards the Kid’s Fun Park, which has lots to keep them busy: animal figurines, a magic carpet, slalom run, and a ‘snow carousel’ – Switzerland’s much more exciting and snowy answer to a park roundabout. There’s plenty to entertain adults too, with a good range of beginner and intermediate slopes, a snowpark and some challenging black runs up on the glacier. When you’ve all tired of skiing (if that’s possible!) go for a family toboggan trip down from ‘Hannig’, a mountain with lots of non-ski activities including some lovely walking paths.
There are lots of top-class hotels, chalets and apartments in Saas Fee to choose from, and you’ll see from our prices that the common misconception that Switzerland is expensive certainly isn’t the case. If you’d like some up-to-the-moment advice on our best deals, or where we recommend you stay, then give our expert team a call. We love to help you find your perfect holiday, and we’re always willing to go the extra mile to find you exactly what you’re looking for. You can also have a look at what’s available online – don’t miss our excellent value package deals which come with flights and transfers included, and you can add extras like ski hire and lift passes to your package too.
