Nendaz Half Term holidays
Perfectly suited to families and young skiers, Nendaz is the ideal destination for a February half term skiing break. This is one of only 23 locations in Switzerland to be awarded the “Families Welcome” status by the Swiss Tourism Federation, which takes into account its childcare facilities, ski schools, affordability and relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
The nursery and beginners’ slopes are just one gondola ride from the main village. They have lovely flat, gentle stretches that are ideal for learning the basics as well as magic carpets, play areas and a cuddly mascot that children will love. The 5 local ski schools offer lessons to adults and children, either in group format or privately and there are two crèches for little ones too young to be out on skis. The main blue and red runs into the village are very wide and gentle, perfect for cruising at your own pace and building confidence - facing north, they should stay in great condition late into the season.
Nendaz doesn’t share the same notoriety as nearby happening Verbier, which means that even during peak times such as school holidays, the pistes are far less crowded. The links to other resorts, especially around Siviez, might get a bit congested but being in the middle of the 4 Valleys means you’re perfectly located to access the full breadth of the vast ski area.
