Klosters Christmas holidays
With Klosters’ chocolate box architecture and beautiful scenery blanketed in snow, a Christmas here is sure to be an enchanting one. The resort’s high altitude means that it’s a smart choice for a ski holiday this early in the season, as chances are the ski conditions are usually very good. There’s a vast network of slopes to suit all abilities - the Gotschna area has some beautiful long intermediate runs (the longest is an impressive 12km) and there are some easy bunny slopes and blue runs in the village and up on Madrisa. Experts will enjoy the challenging black routes and off-piste lines on the notorious Wang slope.
Make the most of the winter wonderland with a ride in a horse-drawn sleigh, or go sledging on one of nine toboggan runs in the area. Previous Christmases have seen torch processions through the village, ending with a party in the forest with music, mulled wine and cookies. There’s usually midnight mass at the delightful Catholic Church on the 24th. Local restaurants also put on festive menus; we like to celebrate as the locals do, with some traditional fondue at the rustic Prattiger Huschi restaurant.
