Interlaken Half Term holidays
As it doesn’t have its own ski area (transport links to the Jungfrau region and several smaller areas), Interlaken is often a more affordable option at this time of year. After a history of awesome snow conditions, Switzerland’s biggest selling point for this time of year is that on average Swiss school half term dates tend to be different to British half terms - less crossover means smaller queues! The Jungfrau region is rarely as rammed with holidaymakers as the popular French resorts (where most Brits flock to), which makes it perfect for those looking for great skiing, beautiful alpine villages and traditional Swiss charm. With the fantastic ski schools and beginner facilities of Wengen and Murren easily accessible by bus or train, beginners can pick a ski school in whichever area suits best, while more experienced skiers roam the region and non-skiers stay back to explore Interlaken. February tends to be a great month for skiing conditions, with high average snowfall rates and slightly milder temperatures than January. There’s also an unending list of activities and sports for all ages to enjoy, from bunjee jumping to sledging (the ‘Big Pintenfritz’ in Grindelwald is supposedly the longest sledge run in the world!).
