Crans Montana Half Term holidays
There's no need to sacrifice a healthy tan on a winter skiing holiday, especially in a suntrap like Crans Montana, known to have one of the best sunshine records in the country.
Though half-term's generally the busiest time of year for ski resorts, to the great confusion of all who've ever been, Crans is comparably quiet. Enjoy it while it lasts, we say! Especially if you're a family or a group of intermediates - the mix of blues and reds (like those from Bellalui and the Piste Nationale) are famous for their views across the Rhone valley, and sprogs will adore the Adrenaline freestyle area, which includes one of the biggest snowparks in Switzerland, as well as gentle beginners modules to get newbies started. The completely uninitiated, meanwhile, will find the gentlest of introductions to skiing in the magic carpeted Snow Island area.
You won't be spending all your time in bindings- downtime here includes skating the frozen lake, sailing down the 6km long toboggan run from Petit Mt Bonvin, kicking back in the cinema, dipping in and out of over 180 shops, or setting off to explore neighbouring Saas-Fee and Verbier.
