Crans Montana Easter holidays
A resort renowned for its sunshine, spring blooms early in Crans Montana. If you want miles of snow sure pistes you might be better off in Zermatt or Saas Fee, but if you're seeking somewhere to catch some rays, soak up scenery and have plenty to do on top of the skiing, you'll be right at home here. While the south facing slopes mightn't be skiable towards the end of the season, the Plaine Morte glacier usually has more than ample coverage if you're happy to potter about on the super high red runs.
The atmosphere's usually electric in Crans Montana over Easter, when the Caprices music festival brings a live mix of hiphop artists, rock gods and headliners like Richie Hawtin and Ziggy Marley to the heart of town. Even without a ticket, you'll find multiple concerts, street shows, après ski events and food stands are open to the skiing public for free.
Families will be in their element here, with all the shopping, dining and non-skiing opportunities to be expected of such a large resort, as well as some top quality childcare like the Fleurs des Champs in the Montana part of town.
Besides the pigging out on artisanal Easter eggs at L'Instant Chocolat, extra special activities include air boarding (a form of inflatable sledging), bowling, and the St Bernard museum, which documents the history of our furry Alpine friends.
