Arosa Easter holidays
An alpine health resort with one of the country’s biggest, sunniest and most snow sure ski areas, we like to think of Arosa as just what the doctor ordered for Easter on the mountains. Despite the area’s south facing position, the high altitude of the slopes usually keeps them in good shape at this time of year (the reds from the Weiishorn and Rothorn should have some of the best snow in the area). If you do find that things get a little worn by midday (or just fancy a break from the action), nab one of the 300 sun loungers at Tschuggenhütte or stop off at Weisshorngipfel - with incredible views over 400 summits from 2,653m, you probably won’t feel like you’re wasting ski time…
Beat the Easter bunny to it and pick up some genuine Swiss Easter chocolate in town: Cindy’s Delikatessen usually has some beautifully wrapped treats. Don't miss the Easter Saturday Market – a long standing village tradition where local producers sell goods like pastries, jam, cheese, honey and breads. Keep on the look out for an ‘Osterfladen’, a traditional cake you'll find everyone tucking into across Switzerland on Easter day.
