With excellent family offerings in the Vogel ski area and landscape a world away from the classroom, Bohinj is a perfect half term destination for families, teachers and anyone else after a break from the everyday.

While holiday prices can be high at this time of year, Slovenia’s surprisingly affordable – sometimes even Bohinj’s finest spa hotel can cost less than a self-catered apartment would in France or Switzerland. With breakfasts and dinners included in a half board package, as well as flights and transfers too, you’re looking at fantastically little hassle and great value for money.

Though the Vogel ski area isn’t the biggest in the Alps, it’s ideal if you’re making your first turns on skis or snowboard and has a handful of runs for intermediates. Experts have a snow park, and the chance of touring the different Slovenian ski areas with the Slovenian Alps Ski Pass.

Snow-wise, this is one of the best times of the season to ski Slovenia, with most years seeing low temperatures and fresh snowfalls throughout the month.
