Bled New Year holidays
With fireworks lighting up the lake and its castle and music from live bands and DJ’s, Bled’s a spectacular place to see in the New Year. The town and promenade are still doused in fairy lights as January approaches, with Christmas market stalls usually running into the first week of the new year. Restaurants host gala dinners, often featuring multiple courses and a glass of bubbly as the clock strikes twelve.
Youngsters aren’t forgotten, with Bled famously hosting Slovenia’s biggest New Year’s Eve event for children - often starting around 3pm with performers playing a big role in recent years.
Besides the big night itself, another longstanding event is the Circle of Friendship on December 30th. Locals hold hands all the way around Lake Bled, with laser shows and handheld lights creating an incredible atmosphere.
