Niseko Christmas holidays
No sacrifices are made here during the Christmas period: see if local company Niseko Gourmet can still prepare and deliver a Christmas hamper direct to your accommodation, containing a traditional Yule dinner that has all our favourite trimmings, with an opulent Japanese twist.
In recent seasons, there have been a number of familiar Christmas activities, such as photo sessions with Santa and an impressive display of fireworks, all held at child-friendly times within Niseko village. It’s not unheard of for the resort to become home to furry reindeer guests, taking Niseko’s littlest skiers on sleigh rides for an unforgettable Christmas away from home.
Snowfall’s usually more than reliable in December thanks to strong winds that bring a blanket of powder in from Siberia. Statistics for past years have recorded depths that rival generous February dumpings, with December being the season’s best month in 2011 a result of a whopping 5 metre downpour.
