Selva Half Term holidays
February is rarely a stranger to heavy snowfall at this time of year, so you should be able to enjoy some top quality dolomite skiing. Check the graph to the right to see what conditions have been like in recent years.
The Italian half term is non-existent which is always promising in terms of not having to play the annual game of elbow-hockey at the nearest lift.
If you’re on a family trip and looking for lessons, the Selva Gardena Ski & Snowboard School and Ski &Snowboard School “2000” are the two main companies available for some instruction – book a private family lesson if you want to enjoy some quality time together on the snow. Mini Club ‘Selvi’ is a childcare service for younger children who are looked after by a qualified team. For more experienced families, a trip around the Sella Ronda and a day of exploring the famous Hidden Valley will make a great week together.
This is a good resort for some quality time off the slopes, with tobogganing, ice hockey and sleigh rides. The museum of Oetzi and its 5000 year old ice man is also only bus ride away in Ortisei. The Hotel des Alpes and Hotel Sun Valley do a good hearty pizza as well as La Bula, which often gives people a reason to go back.
