Passo Tonale Half Term holidays
Due to the happy facts that 1) most Brits head to France and Austria for half term and 2) the Italian schools don't have a half term break, lift queues are generally minimal and pistes traffic free in Passo at this time of year. Thanks to the snow sure ski area which includes glacier skiing at heights of 3016m, as well as February's excellent snow history, you should also find incredible conditions.
The Tonale Presena and Pontedilegno ski schools break beginners in gently on magic carpet-served nursery slopes and also offer off piste sessions for more advanced skiers and boarders. Both schools (and also some hotels) provide their own childcare systems, with indoor crèches, snow playgrounds and woodland walks keeping little ones entertained all week long.
Tweens and teens will go wild for the Adamello Freestyle arena, with a skicross and snow park jam-packed with kickers and rails for all abilities and a pumping base soundtrack for a real party in the park.
Off the piste, other snowy activities like tubing, tobogganing and mountain walks are the makings of memories you'll cherish through the ages. When stomachs start rumbling, La Baraca restaurant offers hearty Italian meals and Pizzeria Bar Alpi cooks up pizzas at very pleasing prices.
