Gressoney New Year holidays
If you want to see in the New Year in a relaxing, laid back resort with great local culture, extensive skiing and stunning scenery, you’ve come to a fabulous place.
There’s usually a buzz around all 3 villages on the night itself. In Stafal, the ski instructors usually perform a spectacular torch light descent on the Sant Anna red run and the evening tends to continue with live music from local groups. In Saint Jean, the piste of Bieltshocke Bielciuken is where the torch light descent usually takes place, with the added excitement of a bonfire being lit with the torches used by the instructors.
The high altitude ski area means that there should be good snow to see in the year and with 180km in the Monterosa you’ll have more than enough to keep you busy. If you decide to stay in a hotel, many of them provide their own celebratory, multi-course meals and some chalets put on a special spread too.
