Legend has it that a lonely Giant stopped the snow from falling on the mountain village at Christmas. Rhemy de Noel decided to keep the giant company, and with this act, the snow began to fall. In the past, he has visited the town once a year on Christmas Eve, to bring presents for all the children and guided by lanterns. Taking place in the Piazza Abbe Henry in recent years, he is often joined by colourful ‘Beuffon’ and reindeer, bringing the magic of Christmas to the town.
For an added authenticity to your Christmas celebrations, children can usually write a letter addressed to Father Christmas and through a voluntary force of ‘little helpers’ each letter is responded to, and this is sure to put the week in your children’s good books.
