Corvara Half Term holidays
Italian resorts like Corvara are a terrific choice at this time of year – there’s no half term for the schools in Italy and the French and Austrian Alps tend to attract the majority of Brits for the week. Combined with the fact that Corvara isn’t a hugely well-known resort, this means there should be much less waiting at the lifts and a lot more room to enjoy the slopes. The lift system is well-maintained and since Corvara is directly on the world-famous Sella Ronda circle, you have a huge expanse of skiing right at edge of your skis with the extended Dolomiti Ski Pass. The local Alta Badia piste map looks as though it were mapped from a beginner - intermediates dream, with the odd challenging run to really get the adrenaline going.
The Ladinia ski and snowboard school runs all sorts of lessons from group and private classes to heli-skiing, freeriding and sessions in the snow park. If you’re travelling with younger children, Skikinderland do childcare, fun and games for three year olds and above.
In Alta Badia’s diary there’s usually a note around February about the annual carnival, which we’re hoping continues for many years to come. In previous years, you’ve been able to take part in a whole host of activities over by the Abruse ski slope while horse drawn sleigh races and parades sometimes often take place over at La Villa.
