St Sorlin d'Arves Half Term holidays
France is pretty organised when it comes to holidays and skiing, as it staggers half-term so resorts don’t become flooded for 2 weeks a year. Saint Sorlin is a beautiful resort which is not yet as well-known as some of the larger ski resorts in the Alps so it tends to be quieter in the busy half-term period.
The Ticket Office’s incredibly accommodating selection of lift passes make the resort a great choice if you’re taking children skiing for the first time. The beginner pass allows access to just the greens around the village so parents don’t need to pay for runs the little ones won’t use. Skiing over half-term can be pricey, so the provision of a ‘small area pass’ which offers a small mix of runs around the resort for a reduced price is well worth knowing about. The ESF offers brilliant lessons, as well as day-care for anyone whose legs are still a bit small for skiing.
The mixture of half-term being mid-season, and the great top altitude of 2620m in the ski area means that the snow around this time is usually fantastic, with powder addicts sure to be more than happy. The off-piste around this time is brilliant, so hire a guide, leave the kids with the ski school and zoom off for a serious adrenaline fix.
To avoid stress around this busy time, opt for a package that includes flights and transfers to have everything sorted in advance. Alternatively, we have packages that include channel crossings for anyone keen for a holiday road-trip and accommodation only options if you’ve not made your mind up just yet.
