Samoens New Year holidays
With a calendar that’s usually full to bursting with festivities, a historic, award-winningly pretty village and a massive ski area, Samoëns has all the ingredients you’ll need for your New Year’s celebrations.
If you’ve had your fair share of dancing on tables in the big ski resorts, you’ll love the lively but laid back atmosphere here. Book a table in one of the fantastic restaurants for an authentic Savoyard feast – most will have specially designed New Year’s menus. Covey’s and Bar La Savoie on the main square are great hot spots to head later on and toast in the New Year with live music, fun and games.
As far as hitting the slopes goes, you should be in for an awesome week – the Grand Massif’s positioning near Mt Blanc gives it a special ‘microclimate’ that usually results in a lot of the white stuff. Avoiding the hustle and bustle of some of the better-known resorts means there should be plenty of opportunity to enjoy the extensive terrain undisturbed and see in the New Year the way you want to.
