Well established as a favourite resort for Brits, this is a real home from home during February half term when families and groups leave Britain behind for a week of serious snow in the heart of the 3 valleys.

As recognised by the Famille Plus Montagne label (which awards the best French resorts for families), all ages are catered for excellently here. If you’re looking for somewhere to introduce your children to skiing, Meribel is superb – the ski area is dedicated to making skiing as easy and fun as possible with special children’s areas including a wildlife discovery zone and mini Snowpark. The ski schools here are fantastic – book into group lessons to learn alongside skiers of similar age and ability or opt for a private lesson with friends and family for quality time together.
