Les Menuires Christmas holidays
Things get Christmassy and decorations brighten up the village for a cool Yule in the snowy Alps! In past years Les Menuires has put on special celebrations and festivities just for the occasion. Santa has been seen making a grand entrance skiing down the slopes, torch in hand and his elves in tail. Traditional festival displays are usually held at the foot of the slopes and fireworks welcome the arrival of Father Christmas. The restaurants switch up their menus to provide special Christmas dishes and most hotel and chalet chefs prepare Christmas gala dinners for a festive feast.
The skiing is usually very good at this time of season when the snow tends to start piling up delivering fresh powder aplenty. Anyone learning to ski this Christmas will find free ski lifts up little green runs in four different places across the villages and excellent ski schools to get you started. Beginners ready to take on the mountain will find longer green runs and a huge assortment of wide traversing blues. There is an equally large amount of steeper reds for intermediates to explore, covering huge amounts of terrain across the 3 Valleys. Advanced skiers and snowboarders will enjoy these as well as the assortment of tricky black runs to conquer, not to mention endless off-piste and various snowparks.
