Les 2 Alpes Half Term holidays
With pistes so high you can ski here in the summer and February usually getting the best of the year’s snowfall, half term is a terrific time for skiing Les 2 Alpes.
Families are very well catered for (the French tourist board have given the resort its ‘famille plus’ label for all of its facilities), as are teachers looking for awesome skiing and après ski. If you’re here with beginners, book lessons with schools like Evolution 2 and BASS. The fact that this is an ‘upside down’ ski area with the easy slopes higher up means you can learn with the best views and snow. It might be wise to get the gondola down at the end of day, as on busy weeks the runs down to resort are notorious for getting quite chopped up. Confident skiers and boarders will love that most of the area is red and above – check out the powder or head to the famous Freestyle Land Snowpark below the glacier, which has a slopestyle, bordercross and much more.
There are around 30 bars and pubs to choose between for après ski – start off with drinks at Pano bar and ski down to Umbrella bar. For an after-dinner party, we love Smithy’s and Avalanche. After fuelling up at our favourite snack spot, Crêpes à Gogo, head to the 1800 m² ice rink (in past years entry has been free if you have a 6+ day lift pass). Snowmobiling is great fun and there’s a 15km track that opens in the evenings for a moonlit jaunt, see if they’re still including a raclette meal at the end of the trip.
