The Avoriaz tourist office arrange lots of festive activities and events including floodlit tobogganing, children’s sledge races, a big Father Christmas parade and Xmas shows. Buzzing with festive spirit, the resort is all lit up with fairy lights and roasted chestnuts are served on the streets, accompanied by carol singing. To add to the spectacle, there’s a torchlit descent by around 200 ski instructors and a big sky lantern release which everyone can join in and enjoy. We've even heard from clients who've taken a husky ride in Avoriaz - an unforgettable Christmas experience for the family.
In terms of Christmas snow, Avoiraz has the best access to high altitude skiing in the Portes du Soleil, offering great skiing in late December.
