The wide, empty slopes are the ideal place to learn and gain confidence, while ski schools are conveniently on either side of the mountain. Finland’s widely undiscovered status as a ski region means you’ll be able to avoid the half term crowds – it’s often said that there’s no such thing as a queue in Ylläs! For anyone looking to have a go at cross-country skiing, there is nowhere better than here!
The resort is not just about the skiing though as there are all kinds of entertainments away from the slopes – go on an exhilarating snowmobile ride through the stunning scenery or embrace nature and take a reindeer or husky sleigh ride. It’s hard to resist visiting Santa while you’re in his homeland and if you want to give the kids a treat, take a day trip to Rovaniemi where the Santa Village is open all year.
