Panorama Half Term skiing

Panorama Half Term holidays

With some of the season’s best snowfall in February, an excellent ski school and skiing suited to kids and grownups alike, Panorama is fantastic for a half-term holiday.

Most Brits head to the European resorts during the February half-term, so naturally the price of European ski holidays shoots up for the week. Because of this, you can often ski the higher and less crowded terrain of the North American resorts at half term for a similar price. With famously good customer service, great snow and a chance that you’ll have many of the runs to yourself, Panorama can be better value for money - and there’s nothing better than a good long haul flight to get the homework (or marking if you’re a teacher) out of the way before you land.

We have two main options for accommodation at Panorama, including the Upper Village Condos spread across four buildings and a value for money hotel, the Pine Inn. Both are close to the lifts - the Ski Tip Lodge apartments are even ski in/ski out, which means hassle-free access to the slopes. The apartments range in size from studios to one/two bedrooms with a max occupancy of four and six for the larger options. A massive draw, wherever you stay, is that the Panorama Springs are they’re accessible to everyone staying at the resort.

If you’re looking for somewhere to learn or improve, the ski school here has a super reputation. The beginner slope has a magic carpet to ease learners in gently and 24 runs including the lovely Showoff and Horseshoe, just what beginners need to progress at a comfortable pace. For more confident skiers, there’s a variety of cruisers and blues (we love the Rollercoaster) while the steeps, chutes, glades and tree runs in Extreme Dream Zone and Tanyton Bowl offer just the challenge experts will be looking for.

For families bringing young children along, the Wee Rascals childcare centre is properly licensed and staffed by people with the right qualifications and CRB checks. Make sure you book a place well in advance and find out what you need to bring with you - usually proof of birth (passport or birth certificate is fine), and a history of any immunisations.
