Lake Louise Easter holidays
Though many warn against putting all your eggs in one basket, it couldn't work better for Lake Louise, where the Fairmont Chateau pretty much runs the show at Easter. Ridiculously popular since the 1890s, this palace on the water's edge knows how to delight all ages with annual Easter activities like Easter egg, cookie and cake decoration, tales from the Easter bunny and for grownups, leisurely brunches in the ballroom.
Less conventional activities also abound, with opportunities to take to the forests to look for real rabbits in the snow, or venture out after dark for a spot of stargazing. For those with a super sweet tooth, an expedition to nearby Banff is also a must, where fine establishments like the Banff Sweet Shoppe and The Fudgery are sure to satisfy.
While elsewhere the snow starts packing up in April, it all seems to migrate to the Canadian Rockies, where the white stuff's actually in best supply in the later spring months. Powder days famously continue as late as May, on super high slopes; which are a mixed bag of excellent beginners sections, open air and forested intermediate runs and pole-gripping gradients.
