Fernie New Year holidays
If you like the sound of seeing in the New Year on some of North America's best snow, surrounded by the stunning Lizard range and spending the evenings with the lovely locals, ski Fernie.
On the big night, families should head to the base area where past years have seen arts and crafts, treasure hunts, glow snow bowling and an early fireworks display for those who'll be tucked up my midnight… On top of the usual night skiing on the green Mighty Moose trail. For adults, Griz Bar always has the best parties, with live music, drinks and dancing while Lizard Creeks' dinner & dance is another fabulous way to celebrate - you'll need to book tickets for both pronto as they tend to sell out quickly.
As for the rest of the trip, daytimes are all about enjoying Fernie's famously good terrain. As well as the forgiving groomers for beginners, the area's an absolute blast for experts with some of the best steep and deeps on the planet. In the evenings, you'll feel like one of the Fernie family in the local hotels, bars and restaurants while kids will have a whale of a time on the Griz Kids Activity nights.
