Fernie Easter holidays
While Fernie doesn't have the highest of pistes, with over ten metres of snowfall each year, the likelihood of good spring skiing is high, especially on the north facing parts of the ski area. Make good use of the Polar Peak Lift, which takes you to the summit of one of the area's highest peaks - the views alone are spectacular.
Easter often collides with the annual spring Slope Soaker event - not to be missed, this is a terrific spectator sport when costumed skiers and boarders gallantly attempt to make it across the pond.
If you're bringing the brood, Griz Kids usually plan some fabulous Easter themed activities for under 12's, with previous seasons seeing an Easter Scavenger Hunt and arts and crafts in the Daylodge.
For the essential chocolate fix, head into town to witness a working chocolate making machine (and sample its produce) at Beanpod.
