Pamporovo New Year holidays
Whether it’s at the sales or the fireworks, the typical New Year’s period in England seems to involve an awful lot of crowds and quite a bit of money-spending. If you fancy a bundle-free, budget-friendly New Year’s, Pamporovo might be just the ticket.
If it’s anything like previous years, you’ll have all the space you could dream of as you cruise down the well groomed and family friendly pistes. Gliding down the gentle Malina back to the village is the perfect preparation for the New Year’s gala dinner served in most hotels, or your very own festivities back in your apartment. After a great meal and a Bulgarian beer or three, the usual practice is to congregate in the village centre for a fantastic fireworks display against the backdrop of the impressive Rhodopi mountains. After this, the rest is up to you. Have an early one and wake up energized for the slopes the next day, or party into the night at one of the resort’s bars (you can’t go wrong with White Hart or Dak’s Irish bar). The next morning, kick off your New Year with a challenge on ‘the Wall’ a hangover-busting mogul run, or take it easy on the Snezhanka 6 ‘Touristic’ piste.
