Zell am See Half Term holidays
The whole family are sure to enjoy spending their half term in Zell am See. Although a growing number of British families are becoming aware of its charms, most still flock to the larger French resorts during half term, so you’re likely to enjoy a quieter week. The snow conditions are usually good at this time of year- the base layer has long since been established, and further snow making will have reinforced this since the New Year.
If you’re taking children here during the week off school, the Kinderland Glocknerbahn is a children’s play area halfway up the mountain, where they’ll be able to perfect their technique under the watchful eye of Schmidolin the dragon. There are also ‘bambilifts’ at both valley areas of the resort- short beginner lifts accessing gentle slopes with ease, so you can start each day off gently. The Funpark Schmitten is great for teens and more adventurous youngsters looking to get a taste of freestyle skiing and there are a number of restaurants in the vicinity if the parents don’t quite fancy joining in. Panorama is a long gentle blue for the whole family – it also starts and ends at eateries which make for great meeting points. Power teens is a great program for youths, which focuses on more progressive aspects of skiing- freeriding, freestyle- and is sure to leave older children desperate for more.
Our great selection of hotels mean that you’ll be able to find the ideal base during your stay in Zell. Our ski specialists can find you the best accommodation if you’re travelling with children too young to ski who will need looking after throughout the week.
Make meal times easy with a half board or full board holiday- such as at the majestic Grand Hotel, or opt for B&B if you fancy eating out whilst on holiday – Ristorante Pizzeria Giuseppe is a good option for dining with the kids, whereas the Einkehr Restaurant's cosy atmosphere, local specialities and varied wine list is just the place if a more 'grown up' evening is on the cards.
