Westendorf New Year holidays

What better way to celebrate the New Year than in one of the prettiest villages of the beautiful Austrian Alps. Lively festivities usually kick off on the 31st from 6pm onwards at the nursery slope in the village centre with past years featuring torchlight descents as well as fantastic firework displays. If that wasn’t enough, hot drinks are normally provided courtesy of the SkiClub of Westendorf to get you in the party mood. With numerous lively bars in the village (we like Moskito and Wunderbar), you can continue the celebrations into the early hours if you’re not getting involved with the celebrations organised in most hotels.

Besides the freedom to roam the amazing SkiWelt area, there’s a fantastic range of non-skiing activities including the 6.6km tobogganing run which children will love. Other things to do include ice skating on the natural rink, bowling and horse drawn sleigh rides guaranteed to keep all ages entertained.

Families holidaying with children too young to ski can ask us about the best accommodation with childcare. Hotels are available as part of a package including flights and transfers creating the ultimate fuss free break and we also have self-drive packages including channel crossings if you prefer to make you own way to the resort.
