Westendorf Christmas holidays
If you’re looking for a magical white Christmas look no further, Westendorf is one of our favourite resorts for alpine charm and festive celebrations. This picturesque village, voted prettiest in Europe 1998 by the Entente Floral Association, offers beautiful scenery of the Wilder Kaiser massif and a merry atmosphere with plenty to keep everyone entertained. Many restaurants offer special Christmas menus with all the trimmings, as do most of our hotels. Follow the locals lead and have a glass of Glühwein to warm you up after a hard days skiing. A midnight mass service takes place at the catholic church of St Nicholas, skating on the natural ice rink is a fantastic way to spend an hour or two and you can treat yourself to a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the forest if you’re feeling really festive. Even though Christmas falls early in the season, over 700 cannons in the wider SkiWelt circuit will make up for any lack of snowfall, see the snow history to the right for more information about what conditions have been like in recent years.
If you’re travelling with children who will need looking after in the day or evening, ask our ski specialists about the best accommodation with childcare. Accommodation is available as part of a package deal including your flights and transfers, or channel crossings if you’re driving to resort.
