St Johann Half Term holidays
There’s plenty to keep the kids occupied over half term. A great resort for first time ski trips, the slopes closest to the resort under the peak of the Harschbichl start off very gently, and there are three super short drag lifts right at the foot of the mountain- well within walking distance from the village. The mountain offers something for everyone as well. There are some great long blues that make progression to the reds a dream- the Harschbichl gondolas accesses a great mix of runs- the red Harschbichlabfahrt mit Varianten branches off onto a gentler blue quite high up if you end up biting off more than you can chew. Older children will enjoy the boarder cross course with its winding turns and gentle rollers, and those into freestyle will find themselves at home in the snowpark. The Schneewinkel ski area, which you’re automatically upgraded to if skiing for longer than 3 days- gives you access to 10 of the regions resorts, and more than enough skiing to keep everyone happy all week. Off the slopes, the Panoramabad leisure centre will answer all of your prayers- relax in the sauna or with a massage to ease aching bodies, or head to the ice rinks and tennis courts if the kids still need to be tired out before bed. In terms of the resorts dining, there’s plenty to satisfy any fussy eaters in the brood- alongside the ubiquitous McDonalds you’ll find a wide range of international cuisine- European, Chinese, Thai, Indian- as well as a variety of restaurants specialising in Austrian and alpine specialities.
