Solden Easter holidays
Easter may be towards the end of the season, but Solden still has plenty to offer snow-lovers. High-altitude skiing above 2000m and an impressive 3 summits over 3000m makes this a safe bet for late-season snow in Austria. If the snow fall isn’t up to scratch there’s always the snow-making facilities on two thirds of all pistes to make up for it!
Easter is a good time for families to visit. The weather is warmer and there are still routes open to suit all abilities from the Innerwald nursery runs for beginner skiers to the 15km run with a 2000m descent from Schwarze Schneide to Gaislachkogl for expert or confident skiers. Book some lessons with a ski school like Yellow Power or Ski School Solden Hochsolden if you’d like some expert tuition or hire a mountain guide for a tour of the area’s best powder. For the best conditions, get up early so you hit the slopes as the lifts open and if things get too slushy later on, you can always sit in the sun with a beer at Restaurant Giggijoch or Schwarzkogl or relax as the sun sets in Aqua Dome’s amazing rooftop spa.
Choose between hotels with facilities to spare and traditional alpine chalets. Accommodation, flights and transfers packages offer maximum convenience but other options are available too. If you wish to drive to Austria, self-drive packages are available and some accommodation can be booked on its own too.
