Solden Christmas holidays
The resort is as lively and busy as ever over this period and provides good skiing and festive fun. Christmas events are only announced a while beforehand – but if it’s anything like previous years, special festive meals are likely at restaurants and in light of Solden’s reputation for après ski, there will be some super Christmas parties in the town (check out what’s going on at Fire&Ice).
The skiing conditions are usually brilliant at this time of year. The good snow supply given the high altitude of many of the slopes and the snow-making facilities below 2200m make a great week of skiing very likely - there are over 140km of routes for skiing across 2 glaciers and the Gaislachkogl and Giggijoch mountains where you can ski a variety of terrain. Pistes like the Innerwald nursery runs are fantastic for getting to grips with the snow and the mountains offer challenging runs too like the route from Schwarze Schneide to Gaislachkogl. After warming up with a glühwein once you’ve left the slopes, ice skating is available and a Wednesday night ski show should be on too – as it is through most the season.
There are plenty of options for accommodation from hotels with facilities to spare, to cosy chalets – many provide special feasts on the big day. We have a range of holidays including flights and transfers for maximum convenience, self-drive packages and accommodation-only deals. Don’t leave it too long– skiing around this time of year is often well-booked so get in early.
