Saalbach Half Term holidays
We’ve got selection of excellent hotels in Saalbach suitable for different sized families, groups and budgets. Check in to the Alpenhotel for a ski-in ski-out experience, with the nursery slopes situated right behind it and the ski lifts barely a minute away. A good hotel for families is the Hotel Central, conveniently located within a few minutes from the ski school, gondola, shops, bars and restaurants. For a more homely alternative, the Guesthouse Schattberg is cosy and smaller for a more intimate option. Pick from over two dozen airports to fly from below and book a deal for an adventure this February Half Term.
Conditions are usually great at this time of year, and with snow cannons covering 90% of the slopes any lack of snowfall is made up for. Shoot off into the 200km worth of crafted pistes for all abilities across the expansive linked resort. Cruise down wide runs and soak in some sunshine on the south facing slopes. Recharge your batteries with some lunch outside in one of the many mountain restaurants like the Asteralm, before making your way to the opposite side of the valley for some shaded slopes. Ski until the late afternoon then make your way to any of the fantastic après bars such as the 12er Treff up the slopes for a drink and a sunbathing session, or the Hinterhag Alm where partying is an absolute must.
There are plenty of activities for when you’re not revelling in some sunny skiing - take the chance to go on a tandem paragliding tour down the mountain one day, or trek off into the white wilderness snowshoeing with a guide. With excellent ski schools available too kids are bound to have a ball and be swept away by the magic of the village.
