Obergurgl Half Term holidays
The half-term week is an excellent time to visit the mountains – conditions are usually top notch in this snow sure Austrian resort and we have some excellent accommodation at unbeatable deals to get you out on to the slopes. This is one of Austria’s best resorts for families – if you’re travelling with children in ski school Hotel Edelweiss & Gurgl is ideal as it’s opposite the lift, nursery slopes and ski school meeting point making an effortless journey onto the piste. Doorstep skiing is available here like most accommodation in the resort. Have your meals included in a half-board holiday or book a catered chalet where you will usually be served breakfast, afternoon-tea and dinner – Chalet Christophorous offers cosy accommodation with easy access to the town centre and Chalet Verwall is a popular family favourite. Apartments are also available and are self-catered so you can holiday at your own pace and do it all on a budget.
On your week away you’re likely to catch one of the ‘Skivolution’ events (with ski tricks, music and fireworks), Look out for the regular toboggan evenings in nearby Hochgurgl if you fancy joining in the fun. The ski schools offer an excellent introduction to the slopes for beginners as well as improver sessions for more experienced snow lovers and the Obergurgl ski school has a mini club and kindergarten for children as young as 2.
