Kitzbuhel New Year holidays
Kitzbuhel New Year’s Eve celebrations brought over 30,000 people to the resort in 2012. With torch lit descents, ski shows, live music and possibly the best firework display you’ll ever see (Pyro legend Armin Lukasser has put on some amazing displays here over the past few years) combined with Kitzbühel’s relaxed and cheerful atmosphere, this is a great place to end the year and begin the next. The best place to be for the Kitzbühel’s New Year’s Eve experience is on the Hahnenkamm where you’ll find singing crowds, lots of glühwein and an amazing view of the evening’s events.
While it’s not the most snow sure of resorts, you can still find great New Year’s skiing in Kitzbühel – the area covers grassland which means it doesn’t need too much snowfall to be skiable, artificial snow cover is good and if you want to ski further, you can get the ‘All Star’ card which can take you to 824km of slopes.
Confident skiers can set the year off to a good start by making a New Year’s resolution – and keeping it – by skiing the notorious Streif which is widely believed to be the world’s most difficult piste. New Year skiing in Kitz is brilliant and includes good beginner slopes, heaps of intermediate terrain, amazing off piste and 2 snow-parks.
In light of Kitzbuhel’s popularity as a New Year’s ski holiday destination, make sure you book your ski holiday well in advance – it couldn’t be easier, just enter your airport below to see our Kitzbühel New Year ski deals or give us a call for ski specialist advice.
