Katschberg Christmas holidays
The run up to Christmas in this quintessentially Austrian village creates a magical winter wonderland; most years have traditional advent markets with beguiling scents of gingerbread and roasted chestnuts drifting through the air and homemade crafts if you need some last minute stocking fillers. There’s usually a party on Christmas Eve with carol singers which is rounded off with a mass service at the St. Peter Parish Church.
Katschberg’s altitude usually blesses the region with great snow on the piste and the village is decorated with pretty lights and bursting with festive cheer (although in somewhere as pretty as Katsch, you don’t need much decoration to make it look Christmassy!). After a day’s skiing, stop off at the rustic ski hut Gamskogelhutte for warming glass of Glühwein by the open fire before you retreat back to your hotel for a cosy evening with your loved ones.
Most of our accommodation is grouped with flights and transfers giving you the best deal and easiest way to book. If Santa has been so good to you that you couldn’t possible fit all those presents in your flight bag, stick on Buble’s Christmas album for a festive drive to the mountains with one of our self-drive packages.
